Sedgemoor Recordings

sea

Recorded from an exposed barn on the fossiled shores of somerset, ep i) and ii) were made through two thousand and five and six, under the monolithic shadows of hinkley point nuclear power station.

GS Fawle was born and bred in Bridgwater, Somerset, England. The recordings on these two releases evoke the archaic spirits of this rich land, from the quantock hills prehistoric forts and wooded coombes, to the channels oxidising swells. And of sedgemoor and the levels, place of elver, cyder and carni.

EP 1

This first ep from Silver Pyre forges an archaic sound evocative of the place it was made. Driven by accordion, and saturated drones, the four tracks on this ep march and sway their way through oxidising waves.

From the sea shanty stomp of ‘Sovereign’ and the shifting swing of ‘Shurton Bars Ammonite,’ to the corroding tides of ‘Filament’ and the mournful lament of ‘Saline.’ ep i) is the first cdr release from a batch of recordings made by gs fawle in an isolated barn under the shadow of hinkley point nuclear power station, they’re hand stamped, wax sealed, and limited in numbers.

EP 2

ii) is the second tide from silver pyre and the sister release to epi). Rising from the silted mud flats of bridgwater bay, these four cyclical recordings swell like tempests.

From the phosphorescent echoes of mammalia, and the saturated stomp of mudhorse, to the tidal shift of clayshoal, and the fossiled substrata of carbon rhyme ancient mariner.

Again these are hand sleeved in sedgemoor straw, wax sealed and limited in numbers.
